<br />. in the previous section hereof, the poundkeeper shall release the <br /> dog or cat to its owner. The poundkeeper shall' further take such <br /> steps as are necessary to cause the owner of the dog or cat to be <br /> charged with any violation of this article which gave rise to the <br /> impoundment of the dog. (Ord. No. 198, 9, 6-27-77) <br /> SECTION 5-61. REDEMPTION BY PERSON OTHER THAN OWNER. If the <br /> owner of any dog or cat impounded under this division shall fail to <br /> redeem such dog or cat within five (5) days after its impoundment, <br /> not including Sunday or holidays, any other person may, upon <br /> complying with the provision of this division, redeem such dog or <br /> cat from the pound and be the lawful owner of such dog thereafter. <br /> If the dog or cat has been requested by a licensed educational or <br /> scientific institution under Section 35.71 of Minnesota Statutes, <br /> then it shall be given to such institution and shall not be sold. <br /> (Ord. No. 198, 9, 6-27-77) <br /> SECTION 5-62. DISPOSITION OF UNREDEEMED DOGS AND CATS. All <br /> dogs and cats impounded under this division which have not been <br /> redeemed or purchased as authorized hereby may be disposed of in a <br /> humane manner by the poundkeeper or any police officer. (Ord. No. <br /> 198, 9, 6-27-77) <br /> SECTION 5 - 63 . INTERFERENCE WITH OFFICERS. It shall be unlawful <br /> for any unauthorized person to break open the pound or to attempt <br /> to do so, or to take or let out any dogs or cats therefrom, or to <br />. take or attempt to take from any officer any dog or cats taken by <br /> him in compliance with this article, or in any manner to interfere <br /> with or hinder such officer in the discharge of his duties under <br /> this article. (Ord. No. 198, 10, 6-27-77) <br /> DIVISION 4. KENNELS <br /> SECTION 5-66. CONSTRUCTION AND PURPOSE OF DIVISION. This <br /> division is supplementary to and in addition to all other <br /> provisions of this Code or other ordinances in effect relatinq to <br /> the ownership, care and custody of doqs within the City and is <br /> deemed necessary bv the Council in order to requlate and control <br /> the ownership and the keepinq of doqs in and near residential area <br /> of the City. <br /> SECTION 5-67, REQUIRED; LIMITED TO LICENSEE'S DOGS: ZONING <br /> CLASSIFICATIONS WHERE PERMITTED. <br /> ~ No person shall keep more than two (2 ) doqs over three <br /> (3) months of aqe anYWhere within the City without first obtaininq <br /> a small kennel license under this division for the keepinq of such <br /> doqs for breedinq, sale or show purposes. <br /> J..Ql Anv licensee under this decision may not board or train <br /> doqs belonqinq to other persons on such licenses premises. <br />. ltl Small kennel licenses will not be issued under this <br /> division in any part of the City except on property zoned <br />
