DRA.FT <br /> KINUTES <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, KIHNESOTA <br /> WOlUCSESSION <br /> February 17, 1994 <br /> 4:30 P.K. - City Hall - Conference Room <br /> CALL TO ORDER(ROLL CALL <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Acting Mayor Probst <br /> called to order the City Council worksession at 5:15 p.m. <br /> Present: Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski, and Paul <br /> Malone. Mayor Sather arrived at 5:20 p.m and presided over <br /> the remainder of the meeting. Absent: councilmember Dale <br /> Hicks. Also present were: City Accountant, Terry Post; <br /> Community Planning Coordinator, Brian Fritsinger; Park & <br /> Recreation Director, Cynthia Severtson, City Administrator, <br /> Dorothy Person; and Recording Secretary, Renee Kaulfuss. <br /> ADOPT AGENDA <br /> KOTION: Aplikowski moved, seconded by Malone, to adopt the <br />. February 17, 1994 worksession agenda as submitted. <br /> Motion carried unanimously (3-0). <br /> ANIMAL CONTROL UPDATE <br /> Staff reviewed the proposed changes to the ordinance and pointed <br /> out that the City Attorney had not yet reviewed the draft <br /> ordinance. <br /> The key areas added were in regards to cats, exotic animals and <br /> kennels. <br /> Councilmember Malone questioned the wording and meaning of <br /> Section 5-33. The question being the definition of a public <br /> place and how it applies to animals in the yard of the owner. He <br /> further offered the suggestion to use different terminology such <br /> as domestic animals rather than the words dog and cat. <br /> The Council was supportive of adding cats to the ordinance. A <br /> brief discussion on the number of cats per household was held, <br /> however, no specific number was offered or action taken. <br /> In Division 6 Kennels; the Council discussed the issue of the <br /> number of dogs and the age of the dogs. Staff indicated the <br /> number of dogs are limited to three (3) per household. <br />. <br />
