PLE~.sE NOTE TIME AND DATE FOR NEXT MEETING <br /> The next meeting of the Park & Recreation Committee is scheduled for <br /> Tuesday, March 29, 1994, at 5:00 p.m., at the Public Works meeting area. <br /> 1. Meeting was called to order at 1:00 p.m. by Dave Sand. In attendance were: <br /> Dave Sand, Chair Dennis Probst, Council Repr. <br /> Fran Holmes, Finance Committee Mark Labine <br /> Mark Magers Dorothy McClung <br /> Mary Robinson Tracy Petersen, Staff <br /> Cindy Severtson, Staff <br /> 2. Minutes of the January 25, 1994 meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> 3. Fran Holmes, a member of the Finance Committee, was introduced. She gave a <br /> brief overview of her involvement on the Finance Committee and of herself. <br /> 4. Dennis Probst provided an update to the committee from the City Council. <br /> Dennis commented on the 8 acres of wetlands donated to the city by the <br /> Sheehy's. Discussion followed. Cindy commented on the condition of the <br /> . tennis count and that they plan to assess the court's condition this spring. The <br /> court may have to be removed. <br /> Dennis commented on the Thursday meeting concerning the Arsenal property. <br /> He asked the Park & Recreation Committee to pull together a plan for the <br /> property and what issues need to be addressed. Additional meetings are <br /> scheduled for March 17 and April 21, both at 7:30 pm. <br /> 5. Program Report - Cindy Severtson and Tracy Petersen <br /> Tracy Petersen distributed the proposed program report. She stated the <br /> brochure would be out on Wednesday, February 23. She highlighted the new <br /> programs for 1994, including those for the summer program. She in targeting <br /> younger participants for a number of these programs and events. <br /> Tracy met with the Activities Director at Presbyterian Homes about partnering <br /> . on older adults needs and activities. They'will be doing some joint research on <br /> this topic. <br /> Cindy met with the Mounds View School district. She stated they are again <br /> cutting back on their summer school activities, which may make it possible for <br /> the Park & Recreation area to use the schools for summer activities. She is <br /> . meeting with them next week to discuss the use of the tennis counts. <br /> ~---------_.- -- --- --- <br />
