Only one bid for diseased tree/sturrp rerroval was received and <br /> opened on Thursday, April 7 at 2:00 pm. The bid price was high, <br /> therefore staff reccrrtreI1ds that no contract be awarded at this <br /> time. Staff w:mld like to contact a couple of contractors for <br /> price quotes. As the 1994 cost is anticipated to be $8,000, State <br /> contract does not mandate the bid p:r=ess be followed. <br /> b. Enclosed is a letter fram Anita larson requesting to be appointed <br /> . to the Parks & Recreation Corrmittee. <br /> c. Additional business license renewal fees are reccmnended for <br /> approval. <br /> II. Unfinished and New Business <br /> a. 1994 Pavement Maintenance Improvement project: Bids were opened <br /> on 'IUesday, April 5. The City received nine bids ranging fram <br /> $331,521.30 as law bid and $369,172.25 as the high bid. The City <br /> Engineer has reviewed the bids. Appropriate Resolutions have been <br /> prepared for approval. The City Engineer is recc:xrrrencling to <br /> Council to wait on accepting the bid and authorizing execution of <br /> the contract until Council receives input fram residents at the <br /> assessment hearing. <br /> b. Thc:m3s Goserud, Arden Hills Nursery is requesting that Council <br /> consider waiving the ($200.00) fee associated with the Special Use <br /> Pennit as the City initiated the request when City staff found it <br /> to be a nonconforming use. <br /> c. Local 4gers settlement. It is reccmnended that the Council <br /> approve the 1994-95 settlement. See rren:o enclosed. <br /> . <br /> --..----- <br />
