CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
MEMJRANDtlM
DATE: May 6, 1994
TO: Dorothy Person, City Administrator
FRCM: Brian FritsiDger, t"rwmom; ty P1ann.i.ng Coordinator@
SUBJECT : May 4, 1994 Planning CannissiOl1 Meeting
Ar its May 4, 1994 meeting the Arden Hills Planning Ccmnission held
four public hearings. All of these items will be reviewed at the May
23, 1994 Council meeting. Following is an update of the action taken
on these cases.
Case #94-07 - Arden Manor Trailer
The request to arrend the SUP for the purpose of rerroving the swinrning
p:>ol was denied. As part of this request the O:rnni.ssion directed
staff to work with the City attorney to determine who owns and is
. resp:>nsible for the park, tot lots, swinrning pool and drainage areas.
Staff is currently working with the City Attorney for additional
direction and interpretation in the area of parks and drainage.
Case #94-08 - Abra Auto Body
The request for a SUP to operate an 8, 000 square f=t Abra Auto Body
and Glass was approved with the cooditions identified in the staff
report .
Case #94-09 - Control Data Systems
The request to arrend SUP #88-25 for a second satellite dish was
approved. This included a 2 f=t height variance on the proposed dish
antenna .
This approval was subject to the rerroval of a smaller, non-functional
antenna on the Northwest corner of the building. The rational for the
variance was the screening provided by the penthouse and the fact that
this dish is sc:mewhat different then what the =ent ordinance
defines. It exclusively receives weather data fran a new satellite.
The smallest dish antenna which can accept data fran this satellite is
. 14 feet.
