CITY OF ARDEN HILI.S
MEH>RANDOM
. DATE: May 18, 1994
ro: Dorothy Person, City Administrator
FRa>! : Dan winkel, Public Works Superintendent
SUBJECT: Upjate of 1994 Pavement MaIlagement Assessment Issues.
To date, I have received only a small number of questions or concerns
regarding the 1994 Pavement Managerrent assessrrents. Listed below are
those that have been forwarded to rre.
Mr. Carlson of 1482 Bussard Court has called and questioned heM his
property assessrrents were established. Mr, Carlson owns three odd
shaped lots in the cul-de-sac, Terry Mauer was to review this with
Mr. Carlson,
Mr. Neuberger and Mrs. Farr have !:oth questioned ~ they ~d be
assessed for this project. Both of these properties are on the comer
of Tiller Lane and Dunlap. Both were assessed for the longer p:>rtion
of their lots as part of the Tiller Lane reconstruction project in
1992. According to the assessrrent p:>licy, neither lot will be
assessed charges for the Dunlap reconstruction project.
. The third item has to do with where Dunlap Street will end just North
of Cannon Avenue. The street currently ends at the south property
line for 3390 Dunlap Street. The City has a street easerrent that
extends to the north property line of the 3390 property a distance of
125 feet. The driveways fran 3390 Dunlap and 1201 Cannon !:oth enter
onto the public street at the south property line for 3390 Dunlap,
which is where the road currently ends, The City Zoning Onlinance
states that driveways llUlSt enter directly onto a City Street, The t><<l
affected property owners are interested in and have asked the City to
vacate the existing street easement. Both residents have been
informed the current street will probably be extended approximately 50
feet north. The street extension will then allow the driveways to
enter directly onto the street, The street easerrent leads into a
landl=ked parcel of land that is owned by Mutual Service Insurance.
The property owners will be contacting MSI to discuss future
developuent of the property,
Perhaps, this issue could be discussed at the Council ><<lrksession on
Thursday, May 19.
.
