---.- ---- - --- ------
. June Minutes Page 15 06/01/94
CASE #94-10: RAMADA HOTEL - SITE PLAN REVIEW. 1201 WEST COUNTY
ROAD E.
Mr. Fritsinger stated the patio at Ramada was given approval
in 1993, and now the applicant is requesting the patio be
approved "as is" and eliminate putting in the sidewalk. The
only conditions not currently being met are the landscaping,
which is tentatively being planned, and the sidewalk. The
sidewalk was required by the Fire Chief to designate the
existing fire lane. Staff supported the striping of the
area instead of a sidewalk.
In addition, there are signs along the building stating no
parking fire lane. Since the patio was introduced, the City
has received no complaints. Staff recommends approval
subject to the conditions outlined in staff's report.
The applicant, Sandra Lewis, General Manager, stated the
landscaping will be addressed as the Ramada changes into a
. Holiday Inn.
Chair Winiecki asked for an estimate of when the landscaping
would be completed.
Ms. Lewis stated she doesn't have an idea since major
construction will be needed to renovate the exterior of the
building.
Tom Herdman, Ramada maintenance manager, stated the patio is
screened from the road.
Mr. Fritsinger stated only half of the patio is screened by
landscaping.
Chair Winiecki asked for more information on when the
landscaping would be finished.
Tom Herdman stated the maximum would be six (6) months but
the managers want the conversion to a Holiday Inn to be
completed in three (3 ) months.
.
