~llG0C
'"
. TCAAP-2
What does the City want to see happen with the land?
The City Council, through a long-range planning process,
would like to see the TCAAP area made accessible to the
community. For the short term, the City is interested in a site
for a new City Hall and a jointly developed Public Works facility
with the National Guard and Ramsey County.
Over the long term, the City Council will develop a
masterplan to integrates the ideas and interests of the many
people concerned about the TCAAP land. The result will be an
outline for public facilities, parks, open space and some level
. of private development.
Residents of Arden Hills and its neighboring communities
also have significant need for recreational facilities in the
form of softball, baseball, soccer and other active play fields.
The TCAAP property offers opportunities for these uses as well.
How would the City's proposal benefit Arden Hills residents?
Opening TCAAP lands will provide hundreds of acres of both
passive and active (JARGON?) recreationa~ opportunities for Arden
Hills residents and surrounding communities. What's more, use of
a small portion of the land for city facilities will make the
present City Hall/Public Works site available for private
. development and return that land to the tax rolls.
-- HORE --
-------
