M1lc-I.:G
,.
. TCAAP-4
How long might the development take?
We understand it may be 20 to 30 years--perhaps even longer
--before all the TCAAP property is available. In the short term,
however, it appears that selected sights will likely be sold
particularly for the City Hall and Public Works buildings as well
recreational opportunities.
Once the land becomes available and funding is secured for
City facilities, this development could be completed within 18-24
months.
. What interest have others expressed in the TCAAP lands?
The groups expressing an interest in the lands are as
diverse as their suggested uses for the property. Among those
expressing an interest are the Ramsey County Public Works
department, the Parks department and its Sheriff's office, the
Minnesota State Patrol, the Department of Natural Resources, the
National Guard, members of Preserve Open Space Environment (POSE)
and the Minnesota Biathlon Club.
Furthermore, many environmentally oriented groups have
expressed their interest in maintaining open space and protecting
existing plant and animal species. The surrounding communities,
together with Arden Hills, have also discussed a number of parks
. and recreation opportunities.
-- MORE --
