..
.
ARDEN MANOR
. 4605 PRIOR AVENUE - ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA (612) 636-0553
July 27, 1994
Mr. Brian Fritsinger
City of Arden Hills
1450 West Highway 96
Arden Hills, Mn. 55112
Re; City Council request for more information on our request to
close the swimming pool in Arden Manor Mobile Home Park.
Dear Mr Fritsinger,
This letter is to inform you that the Owner and Management of
Arden Manor have come to the conclusion that regardless of our
attempts to negotiate with the City Council it has become very
obvious at the last meeting that communications with the City
Council are apparently impossible.
Contrary to intelligent reason, we have at this time decided to
contract with Royal Pool Company to once again patch up the pool
as good as possible and to put it into operation. As soon as
they get their work done, and this work has been mostly
. completed as of this date, so that by Auguust 2,1994 we should
began to f ill the pool, treat for clarity and chemical balance,
after which time we will contact Ramsey County Health Department
for their inspection and acceptance.
We are very concerned that the City Council did not fairly
consider our presentation regarding other Park rents. Many of
these Parks have less amenities then that which we provide here
at Arden Manor, yet these Parks have Lot rents in excess of
$50.00 per month higher then what we are charging at our Park.
For Council to say "that this is not their problem", if we have
not raised our rents to cover cost of continual Pool
maintenance. is to ignore the fact that many of our residents
are retired and "blue collar workers" (You know, the ones who
pay the bills in this country) and from whom come a goodly
source of tax income into the City of Arden Hills. These are
not the ones who have time to show up at the City Council
meetings, they are too tired making a living. Instead the ones
that got up at the meeting were Day Care operators who benefit
from as many Park amenities as possible to care for many of
their children that do not even live in this Park. Some others
that came and spoke at the meeting. are government subsidized
that are NOT in fact speaking for the majority. Many residents
have told us "directly" (although they have not called City
Hall) that they do NOT WANT THE POOL.
.
