-
.
Page 2
.--- ...___m
The desire of the Owners and Management of Arden Manor was only
to reasonably consult with the City of Arden Hills to eliminate
.a Pool that was installed in accordance with the accepted
standard of pools being built in the nineteen seventies,
according to the "FADE" of the times, but contrary to the "NOW"
known methods of how to properly build a Pool to stand up to the
extreme conditions of Minnesota weather.
For the City Council to "demand" that we continue to maintain
the pool or else "PAY" for other amenities is absurd, when in
fact the City refuses to maintain properly the area that was
entrusted to their care. This is being very inconsiderate of
the tax paying Park residents, and would be "forcing" rent
increases upon residents that do not use or want the swimming
,
pool as a Park amenity.
The owners and management are very neutral in this Council
decision and only ask that they consider and remember that
Mobile Home living is a very affordable and desirable form of
housing for many working and retired people. This should in no
way be a Council decision, unless it is based wholly on the
Democratic Majority of those residents who pay their rent with
EARNED income. This would require that we survey all of the Park
residents and not be swayed by the' minority few that are busy
. calling City Hall and not bothering to even contact management.
Obviously with the short notice given to us by the City Council
to answer their demands, it did not give us a chance to properly
consult the total Park residents with a survey, thus we
temporarily patched the Pool at the cost of several thousand
, dollars, only to satisfy a minority few. This is not a
reflection of what it would cost to fix the pool properly or
perhaps even replace the entire Pool, therefore we feel it is
necessary to make WAll Park Residents" aware that this will
effect their future rents. We must let them know all the facts
so they can have "their say" to the City Council, what is being
decided for their Park.
There has also been many rumors that have gone around our Park
regarding the $10.00 rent increase in Febuary 1994. These rumors
have said "the Park Owners have raised our rent and now they are
taking away our Park amenities". The "Truth" is that the last
rent increase was "LESS~ per lot then the operational cost per
lot increases over the last two years; Therefore we believe it
is the responsibility of the City Council to consider carefully
their decisions regarding the swimming pool, that effects or
forces cost increases upon their Constituents.
There are many beautiful and friendly people in Arden Manor
. Park. We are always willing to help and to communicate with all
who call and are willing to do their part in making this a great
place for all to live in a peaceful neighborhood, that respects
. the property and needs of "all" the Park residents.
. - -
