---- -------------

~ \

PATRICIA M. MOEN

. RAMSEY COUNTY SHERIFF

George W. Katseres, Chief Deputy

14 W, Kellogg Boulevard
51. Paul, Minnesota 55102,1648
Telephone: (612) 298,4451
Telefacsimile: (612) 292,7398

July 14, 1994

SECOND QUARTER 1994 COMPARATIVE CRIME STATISTICS

CITY OF ARDEN HILLS

About This Report:

This report shows a four year comparison of incidents reported
in the second quarter which were investigated by the Ramsey
County Sheriff's Department General Investigations unit. The
incidents are broken down into Categories and Offenses.
Attached are two reports showing all investigations for the
current quarter and a report for the entire year 1994; these
include one for your city and one for all contract cities
... combined.

In addition to the regular reports of crimes investigated I
have included calls for service reports for the same period.
Crimes investigated are those which are actually assigned for
follow up work versus calls for service which may have been
resolved at the street level.

Death Investiqations:

There were no death investigations in this quarter.

Assaults:

Assaults for the second increased over previous second
quarters with domestic assaults leading the way. There is
cause for concern in this category as domestic assaults have
increased so has the level of this crime. We continue to work
with the Ramsey County Violence Prevention initiative and all
domestics where an arrest occurs are reported to the Family
violence Network for immediate followup with the victims. The
numbers reported via case management is different than the
actual number of domestic calls that were actually answered in
the city of Arden Hills. There were 16 domestic calls in this
quarter and only 10 resulted in arrests or followup action by
... us. The other 6 were verbal only and no arrests were made in

ADULT DETENTION DIVISION (612) 292-6050 . CIV!L PROCESS (612) 292-6030 . PATFlOl DIVISION (612) 481-1317 .
