In addition to these costs, a sanitary sewer replacement may be necessary as the existing sewer extends along an easement that lies on back lot lines. As this segment of sanitary sewer has proven to be a maintenance problem, its replacement has also been considered. That replacement is estimated at approximately $24,000, a cost that is not included in the $270,000 for street and storm sewer construction as outlined above. As the County has considered cold in-place recycling as an option for this roadway, it is possible that incremental cost could be obtained in the turn-back agreement. The estimated cost for recycling the roadway is approximately $54,000, This amount could be subtracted from the $270,000 project cost to yield a net cost of $216,000 for the reconstruction of Stowe Avenue. . This letter does not address any additional utility repairs outside of the 1,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer replacement. If the City of Arden Hills requires any additional maintenance or repairs, those should be addressed in the planning stages of the project. Soil borings should also be advanced to determine subgrade soil conditions in order to evaluate the need for subgrade correction and drainage.
