NYFS is a private, non-profit agency committed to supporting the developmental
needs of youth and family within their community environment. NYFS was started 20 years
ago, and there are 10 supporting cities participating in the program. Arden Hills was served
in 1993 with over 400 hours of services.
Ms. Andrews described the types of programs that are offered by NYFS:
Counseling Center: This center serves ages 3 to senior citizens. A key emphasis of
this program is on children and families. A new component, not reflected in 1993
statistics, is working with families, who, for whatever reason are unable to come to
the center and need more intensive services through team visits.
.
