CITY HALL COMPLEX AND PUBLIC WORRS/PARRS & RECREATION <br /> MAINTENANCE FACILITIES <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> The City of Arden Hills is requesting proposals from <br /> architectural firms for the design of a city Hall complex and <br /> Public works/Park and Recreation maintenance facility. <br /> Approximate size of city Hall complex would be 8,400 square <br /> feet, with an estimated cost between $670,000 to $840,000. <br /> Approximate size of Public Works/Park and Recreation maintenance <br /> facility is 24,280 square feet, with an estimated cost to be <br /> between $1,456,000 and $1,942,000. Total cost of the entire <br /> project is estimated to be between $2,000,000 and $2,500,000. <br /> The scope of services requested will include the following: <br /> l. An evaluation of the four sites identified in the City Hall <br /> study Committee's Report for the proposed buildings to <br /> determine the site that presents the best opportunity to <br /> maximize building function and aesthetics while minimizing <br /> cost. <br /> 2. Preparation of a building program to include project scope, <br /> goals, budget, and schedule and any other information such <br /> . as facility use, maintenance procedures and special <br /> requirements. <br /> 3. Prepare schematic design by developing initial design <br /> concept. Include rough sketch models, drawings of <br /> principal floor plans and rough preliminary estimate of <br /> construction cost. Review design approach and alternatives <br /> with council and staff and make revisions as directed. <br /> 4. Develop final design. Establish size and character of <br /> project to show all the refinements of proposed design. <br /> Drawings should include sections, elevations showing <br /> exterior treatment, site plan with grading and general <br /> landscape. Prepare rough or outline specifications. <br /> 5. Prepare construction documents, drawings/specifications. <br /> Evaluation of proposals will consist of the following: <br /> l. Ability to develop and complete the program, provide <br /> estimates, plan layouts and outline specifications within <br /> the deadlines. <br /> 2. Ability to translate and execute the program into schematic <br /> design, design development drawings and construction <br /> . documents. <br /> (over) <br />
