,.
. CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA
WORKSESSION MINUTES
AUGUST 3l, 1994
4:30PM - TWIN CITY ARMY AMMUNITION PLANT
CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Probst called to order the City Council
worksession at 4:40P.M. Present: Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski, Paul Malone,
and Dale Hicks; City Administrator Dorothy A. Person; City Accountant, Terry Post; and
Recording Secretary, Kim Moore-Sykes.
ADOPT AGENDA
MOTION: Councilmember Malone moved and seconded by Councilmember Hicks to
adopt the August 31, 1994 work session agenda as submitted. Motion carried
. unanimously (4-0).
Agenda Item #3a.
Council Chambers - Review of potential interim meetings space at Building 105, TCAAP.
A. Discussion of the temporary use of the TCAAP facilities for the Arden Hills City
Council Meetings.
I. The facilities are not "cable - ready". Live broadcasting from the
facilities is not currently possible. Meetings could be taped and replayed
at a later date.
2. There was a discussion about the feasibility of using the TCAAP
facilities for Council and worksession meetings. General agreement was
that while they would be a good interim facility, the facilities would not
work for an extended period of time.
3. Current City Hall facilities are not adequate because:
a. space needs exceed what is available at the current site.
b. extensive costs involved in repairing current facility.
4. Possible sites for a new City facility were discussed. Some ideas
included:
a. Site west of Bethel College - This site is large enough to
accommodate a City Hall, but not the Public Works garage.
. The preference is to have both facilities together on the
same site.
--
