Councilmember Malone has prepared a draft employment ad for the City Clerk/Administrator position. He has also gathered publication cutoff information. Council opinion on this information is requested. 2. The City was notified this week by the Minnesota Department of Employee Relations (DOER) of a pay equity "First Notice of Non-Compliance". Staff will evaluate the options to respond to this ruling. In any event, this development underscores the Importance of bringing the current POI job point evaluation project to closure on a timely basis. 3. Although the building facility issue has been tabled until December, some degree of staff effort was expended on evaluating the 1212 Red Fox Road building options. Architect Jeff Oertel's observations concerning the reuse of this building for City operaUons are enclosed for your review. 4. The City has maintained its position In the Piper Institutional Government Income Portfolio even though the market value of fund shares has continued to decline. The strategy is that the market value will, In time, return to approximate purchase cost. Other General Information Cindy Severtson Walsh has advised me that both the Valentine Park warming house and parking lot construction projects should be completed by 10/28/94. Staff has evaluated the applications for the Intermediate Clerk open position and will be conducting interviews as soon as possible. Target date for filling the position is no later than 11/14/94. Council packets will be delivered by staff and the courier service no longer utilized. Staff intention is to provide Council a single set of minutes in the packet prior to Council meetings and to avoid the .draft: minutes. cycle review by Council. .
