-- .-.-
- PJannins:! Minutes Pa2:e 5 12/07/94
Erickson inquired if this is representative of the basic design of the proposed home. Mr.
Rockcastle indicated the model represents the general design approach that will be taken, but he
did not want the Commission to look at the model and envision it with windows.
Erickson complimented the Crosbys for providing the Commission with more specific
information.
Erickson inquired if piers would be used for most of the house. Mr. Rockcastle indicated this
would be the case.
Carlson inquired as to the type of pilings that would be used. Mr. Rockcastle was not sure at this
point, but the in-ground portion would be in cement with the above ground portion of steel or
wood.
Carlson asked how much fill would be used. Mr. Rockcastle indicated approximately 18-20 yards
of fill is proposed and perhaps that much will not even be used if approaches are varied. Mr,
Rockcastle indicated the least amount of fill would be the most desirable approach.
~ Rye commended Mr. Rockcastle on the design of the house to fit the landscape.
Nelson inquired if the Structure would be two stories. Mr. Rockcastle indicated the levels would
vary and in some sections perhaps three levels, but the levels would not sit one on top of the
other.
Larson inquired as to the location of the resident in opposition to the development. Mr.
Fritsinger pointed Out the property on the overhead, indicating the property would be
approximately two houses away from the Crosbys,
Larson noted the sketches given the Commission differ from the overhead transparencies. Larson
inquired why the house wasn't moved back so as to fit into the setback requirements. Mr.
Rockcastle indicated the general issues are in regards to the impact on the site. Mr, Rockcastle
indicated drainage would be blocked by the house if the house was moved, also the house would
begin to encroach On the wetlands. Mr, Rockcastle indicated the site chosen for the home was
the least impact to the site and would preserve the natural landscape of the lot.
Piotrowski indicated concern that three levels would be visible from the street. Mr. Rockcastle
indicated the height requirement would not make it possible for three levels to be designed on
that part of the home.
Rye questioned where further expansion would be placed. Mr. Rockcastle indicated limitations
.. that have been given, no expansion is planned.
