.
I.
I and we were left with a narrow driveway with a retaining wall. My question then is, who
now owns the easement, was it ever state, county or city property. Was it legally obtained
I and why am I now required to yield any land to this project.
I guess the other question that pops in my mind is what is the proposed permanent
I easement. Will I be allowed to drive on it or will I be required to move my driveway? I
want complete assurances that my driveway will be restore to its exact, if not better
condition and that all the recurrent problems will be cared for promptly by the city without
I any cost to myself. I know that curbs and service cuts sink for years and I will not have
that occur on my property. The driveway is currently crushed rock and I wish to have it
restored to crushed rock., You will not be allowed to pave the driveway. Paving only
I contributes to more problems with run off on the lake.
I stand completely opposed to the use of my driveway for an easement and a storm sewer.
I I will expect that if I am ignored, that my father will be compensated for the property, the
damages and ongoing repair for years to come, any plants or garden that is destroyed. As
I mentioned to you on the phone, I learned on the City Council that engineers never do
I what is promised and projects are often left poorly done and seldom maintained. I can
think of several experiences from my time on the City Council. I have no faith that this
I- will be anything but an headache for myself and for the lake itself.
As I said, I stand opposed to this project. I also regret that I was not given more notice of
I this or the public hearing. To say you forgot or didn't think about it until today.', seems
like a big oversight when you plan to destroy my driveway, garden, lake and life. I will not
be able to attend the public hearing because I will be out of town. Convenient for you and
I an expense for me if I do not go on a prepaid vacation. As I said to you on the telephone, I
know that the City Council will do what it plans without consideration of anything or
anyone else.
I Sincerely,
I
I Nancy K. Hansen
I
I
I-
I
