H.F. 1258 (Hausman); No Senate Companion . <br />This bill establishes housing as a fifth metropolitan system . <br />Section 2, subdivision 2 defmes "affordable housing" as households which expend no <br />more than 30 percent of meir household income on housing and "comprehensive choice . <br />housing" is defmed as single-family and multi-family housing that is affordable for <br />households wim incomes less man or equal to 30, 50 or 80 percent of me median income. <br />Subdivision 3 and 4 require the council to adopt a long-range policy plan for housing and . <br />requires me plan to include standards goveming opportunities for comprehensive choice <br />housing and me criteria by which the council will evaluate housing plan amendments to I <br />local comp plans, <br />Subdivision 5 requires me council to develop a formula for allocating me metro area's -. <br />comprehensive choice housing needs to cities within the MUSA and free-standing growtlJ <br />centers.
