I . Uudated Cost Estimate for the uroiect .1 The cost estimate by Maier Stewart Associates is $362,750. This is considerably less than was previously estimated. The bid would include an alternate for the lighting of the SW field and the parking lot. The playground structure is not included in the price estimate or bids. I would like I to choose that structure and obtain bids separately. It does have to be installed by December of 1997 as a requirement of the grant. Additional fundraising will continue in an attempt to raise . funds for the installation of this structure in 1996 or Spring of 1997. I have written several grants to local foundations that I have not heard from. It is my intention to . continue fundraising. Additional money may be needed for lights, unless the bids received are less than estimated. The storm drainage construction and erosion control for the project total $22,000 (see Maier Stewart Cost Estimate). It is my assumption that this amount would come out Qfthe . Storm Water Management Fund. Any money raised for this project beyond what is needed for improvements and the playground structure will be used to replenish the $200,000 used from the park fund. The park fund currently has a balance of approximately $600,000. . Conclusion The proposed project will address and correct the Americans with Disability Act inaccessibility, I safety concerns, and the drainage and erosion problems that currently exist. Engineer Stonehouse feels confident that the bids will be received in the range of the updated estimate he has provided. . The proposed plan has been shared with the Ramsey County Sheriff under Sheriff, John Louey.
