I
I. d.
I Newsletter/Town Crier
Councilmember Aplikowski introduced John Hoelscher, a volunteer who
is interested in compiling the Town Crier newsletter. It was suggested
I that it be mailed to the residents perhaps eight times a year. Mayor Probst
and the Council indicated they were in approval of issuing the newsletter
I with Mayor Probst suggesting that a committee be formed to assist with
the production.
I Some of the issues raised were cost and color of paper and postage costs.
John distributed a paper that he had compiled for the month of June and
I everyone agreed it had been done very well. We look forward to the
future ofthe "Town Crier".
I e. Assessment Policy Historv
Terry Mauer and Greg Stonehouse, consulting engineers, discussed the
assessment policy. One option that was discussed for the upcoming
I Assessment Hearing is a five and eight year length of payment, with the
parameters being anything under $3500 - five years and anything over
Ie $3500 - eight years.
Another item discussed and to be researched further by the Engineer was
I that if, in fact, there is a wetland on the frontage of the property, the
assessed amount on the property could be reduced by an appropriate
amount.
I f. Ventilation of Public Works Garage
Mayor Probst and the Council indicated a new ventilation systen should be
I completed before winter and that Mr. Fritsinger should make the final
decision as to when to proceed.
I g. 1996 Budget Calendar
The Council indicated the proposed 1996 Budget Calendar Meeting
schedule outlined by Staff would be appropriate.
I h. Miscellaneous
The Council briefly discussed a number of issues related to TCAAP. Staff
I will be making recommendations at the May 30th Meeting on an EDA
Grant and possible bid for the TCAAP Caretaker Contract. The Council
I asked for back copies of the Minutes from Congressman Vento's
Reutilization Committee.
I- Paul Malone will be on vacation July 29 through August 13, 1995.
I
