Why hasn't the <br />committee been more informed about the possibility of a casino <br />moving to the TCAAP property? Dennis Probst responded that the I <br />committee was first informed of the prairie Island Indian <br />Communities' intent in the paper and not before. <br />Steve Boland told the group that there is still lots of time before I <br />any land is going to change hands. He reassured everyone that the <br />committee was not trying to rush any plans past the community <br />without getting input into the planning. I <br />Frank Blasiak indicated that the residents of Mounds View seemed <br />mainly against the idea of a casino at TCAAP. I <br />- The committee meetings should be moved to another building. The <br />guards at TCAAP are intimidating and inhibit the public from <br />attending the meeting. I <br />The committee agreed that meetings should continue being held at <br />the TCAAP location, due to its centralized location. I <br />- Congressman Vento's phone lines should be open after 5:00 pm. <br />Steve Boland responded that the federal government was working to .. <br />downsize the level of employees, and that the possibility of hiring <br />more people to staff the phones for a longer period of time was <br />unlikely, but that he would give the suggestion to congressman I <br />Vento. Currently, the office is open until 5:30 pm Monday through <br />Friday. <br />- A member of the Christian Coalition indicated that the committee I <br />should be aware that it needs to keep the lines of communication <br />open to the public. I <br />- Arden Hills should put an item about a possible casino into its <br />survey of residents. <br />- The prairie Island Indian Community should make a presentation at I <br />the next meeting. <br />steve Boland told the group that Congressman Vento has met with the I <br />prairie Island Indian Community in the past, but that only the <br />possibility of housing was discussed at that meeting.
