CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />I MEMORANDUM <br />I DATE: July 3, 1995 <br />I TO: Mayor and City Council ~ <br /> Brian Fritsinger, Administrat ~. <br />I FROM: <br /> SUBJECT: Re-Codification of Municipal Code, Chapters 1 and 2 <br />I <br /> Attached the Council will find Chapters 1 and 2 of the Arden Hills Municipal Code. The <br />I City originally began re-codification last year but due to a number of issues, little has been <br /> discussed beyond the original draft being prepared by the League of Minnesota Cities. Once <br /> our new Public Works Superintendent is on Staff, I will have more time available to review <br />. the Code and will provide the Council with more input on the various code items. <br />.e In reviewing these document I would ask the Council to keep in mind the following: <br /> 1. Any shaded areas are new language recommended by the Attorney. <br /> 2. Any areas crossed out are proposed to be stricken from the Code. <br />. (Other parts have been removed but not shown). <br /> 3. Occasionally, the Attorney will pose a question to the City which will <br />I be bolded at the end of any section. <br /> 4. Any new ordinances or regulations being contemplated by the Council <br /> should be discussed during the appropriate chapter. <br />I 5. Several chapters or sections have changed location within the Code <br /> itself. <br />. 1 will also provide some general comments to be considered by the City Council for each <br /> chapter. With twenty-eight chapters to review, I anticipate including several chapters for <br /> discussion at all future 1995 Worksession Meetings. <br />I Chapter 1 <br />I 1. Does the Council desire to change the term Clerk-Administrator to City <br /> Administrator? (Based on discussions with previous Administrator). <br />I 2. Definitions need to correspond to definitions in Zoning Ordinance and <br /> Subdivision Ordinance. <br />I- 3. Section 120.03. subd 1 - Increase in fine to $700? <br /> 4. Section 120.03. subd 2 - Increase in fine to $200? <br />I <br />
