--------- . -------
I
2 .-
6. National Guard Water/Sewer Connection - Staff met with representatives of the ,
National Guard to discuss the Connection Agreement. Staff has proposed a
connection fee in the range of $22,500 - $28,000. 1 am anticipating this item to be I
placed on the July 10, 1995 Council Meeting Agenda.
7. June 28. 1995 Letter from Barb Piotrowski requesting a leave of absence from the I
Planning Commission until October 4, 1995. The Council should consider this
request and provide direction to Staff. Currently there are no alternates available for ,
this Commission. I have contacted Ray McGraw who has expressed a willingness
to act as an alternate during this period of time if the Council were to grant the leave.
8. County Road F Reconstruction - 11tis project has continued to provide difficulties I
for the City. Recent rains have at times left the road nearly impassible and the
contractor has not cooperated in providing access to the abutting properties. I
The City has received numerous complaints which include one which stated garbage
and mail service has been stopped due to the condition of the road. We have I
bypassed the on site Superintendent and are trying to work with the upper
management of the contractor to improve services. I have discussed with Mr.
Stonehouse the options available to the City to force changes by the contractor. -I
These options would include stopping the project until all issues are rectified.
I will continue to monitor the situation closely and update the Council as the project I
continues.
9. July 5. 1995. Planninll Commission Meeting Agenda Packet. I
10. June 24. 1995. Letter from the North Suburban Tobacco Compliance Proiect
inviting the City Council to a meeting on July 26, 1995. I will not be able to attend I
this meeting.
II. TCAAP - I had an opportunity to discuss with the Pioneer Press the fact that the I
Prairie Island Indian Community has filed a Resolution with the BIA on June 5,
1995, for ownership 0 f the full Arsenal property. 1 was not aware of this most recent I
request. While 1 don't know where Mr. Morrison obtained this information he did
also state that the BIA does not intend to act on any request by the Tribe until a
detailed plan is submitted by the Tribe. This is apparently the same action taken last I
year by Prairie Island. The Council will also fmd, included in the packet, additional
information from the TCAAP Task Force.
12. Miscellaneous - In light of the fact that it's an non-agenda week, I also included a I
little humor. Can you determine who the person is trying to see what the future -I
holds for TCAAP? I'm sure the Council never knew it had such a diverse Staff.
-
