SUBJECT: 1995 Union Contract Negotiations <br /> I The current contract between the City of Arden Hills and Local 49 expires on 12-31-95. The l' . <br /> Union has approached the City about a possible two year extension to the current agreement. <br /> I The purpose of this Closed Meeting is for the Council to discuss the options available in <br /> I undertaking these negotiations. Some of the issues to consider are: <br /> 1. Union Request - 3 and 3.5% increase on two year extension. <br /> Ie 2. Average Increase in Other Cities - 2.8% <br /> 3. 1996 Budget - Council has asked Staff to consider two budget increase <br /> scenarios for 1996. (0% and 3.5%) <br /> . 4. Pay Equity - Attached is current 1995 Pay Plan. The Union is at the <br /> maximum of Step 6 in the current range. (99.14%) <br /> 5. Negotiations - Should negotations be limited to a contract extension or should <br /> I the full contract be open for negotiation? There are a number of non- <br /> wage items the Council may wish to consider within the Agreement. <br /> Those Articles identified by Staff are: <br /> I A. 6.8 - Overtime <br /> D. 8.1 - Work Schedules <br /> I C. 8.3 - Break <br /> D. 9.2 - Overtime <br /> .
