<br /> I City of Arden Hills Chapter 2 Administration <br /> I. mayor shall designate in the proclamation. Theretlp6ft The regulation shall take effect <br /> I immediately _~ior at such later time as may be specified in the proclamation. <br /> I By like proclamation the mayor may modify or rescind any such regulation. <br /> I C, Expiration. The Council may rescind any emergency regulation by resolution at any <br /> I time. If not sooner rescinded, every such regulation shall expire at the end of thirty (30) <br /> days after its effective date or at the end of the civil defense emergency. <br /> I <br /> I D. Conflict. Any provision of this Code or City ordinance, rule or regulation <br /> I inconsistent with an emergency regulation promulgated by the mayor shall be suspended <br /> during the period of time and to the extent that such conflict exists. <br /> .. <br /> I E. Extraordinary Acts During Emergency. During a civil defense emergency the City <br /> is, notwithstanding any statutory or charter provision to the contrary, empowered, <br /> I through its governing body acting within or without the corporate limits of the City, to <br /> I enter into contracts and l)iincur obligations necessary to combat such disaster by <br /> I protecting the health and safety of persons and property, and providing emergency <br /> assistance to the victims of such disaster. The City may exercise such powers in the light <br /> I of the exigencies of the disaster without compliance with time-consuming procedures and <br /> I formalities prescribed by law pertaining to the performance of public work, entering into <br /> contracts, incurring of obligations, employment of temporary workers, rental of <br /> I equipment, purchase of supplies and materials, limitations upon tax levies, and the <br /> I- 2 - 39 <br /> I <br />
