<br />I City of Arden Hills Chapter 2 Administration <br />I. 240.29 Layoff and Demotion. <br />I <br />I Subd. 1 Layoff. An employee may be laid off at the recommendation of the Clerk- <br />I Administrator with the approval of the City Council. Job relevant qualification factors shall <br /> be the primary basis for determining layoffs. Length of continuous service within a given job <br />I classification and total length of continuous service will B:t!h1Je considered when job-relevant <br />I qualifications of employees are equal. The Clerk-Administrator shall give a minimum of <br /> fourteen (14) calendar days' advance written notice to any employee to be laid off. <br />I <br />I Subd. 2 Demotion. At the recommendation of the Clerk-Administrator and with the <br />I- approval of the City Council, an employee may be demoted from one position to another in <br /> a lower classification at a lower level of pay. <br />I <br />I 240.30 Discipline fur Just Cause and Discharge. Discipline and discharge ,,,,'illRjbe for just <br /> cause. Evidence of just cause ~:provide the basis for all disciplinary action. Cause for <br />I discipline and discharge includes but ~not ~limited to: <br />I <br /> A. Incompetence or inefficiency in performance of duties. <br />I <br />I B.
