I
I. ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL -MY 31, 1995 1L
I estimated total project cost of approximately $362,000 based upon a 5% contingency cost and
I associated overhead costs.
Mr. Stonehouse additionally recommended:
I A. The City of Arden Hills should note acceptance and receipt of all nine bid proposals.
Bid bonds should be returned to all but the three low bidders for the project.
I B. The City should award the project to Veit & company, upon resolution of the
alternate bid items presented.
I C. All conditions and transactions as noted herein be subject to review and input of the
City Attorney.
I Mr. Stonehouse noted recommendations of the Rice Creek Watershed District will need to be
addressed, but there will be no additional cost to the City.
I Mayor Probst inquired about the playground facility. Ms. Walsh indicated the playground facility
.e is not included in this bid, but will need to be added before 1997 to stay in accordance with the grant
received by the State.
I Mayor Probst inquired if there is a current little league field. Ms. Walsh noted currently there is not
a little league field.
. Mayor Probst asked if using this field for a little league will reduce the field capacity by one-fourth.
Ms. Walsh explained there would not be a loss with the addition oflighting of one of the fields.
I Mayor Probst inquired if the lighting should be added at a later date. Mr. Stonehouse advised the
cost of adding the lights at a later date could be more expensive. Ms. Walsh added the cost of
digging the turf up at a later date would also add expense.
I Ms. Walsh also explained the lighting would also service the parking lot and this is a request of the
I neighbors and the Sheriffs Department.
Ms. Megan Ricke, Chair of the Parks & Recreation Committee, indicated they have held meetings
I with the neighbors and their concerns were for the lighting and parking. She noted the lighting is
more sophisticated than in the past and lighting will be concentrated on the fields.
I Ms. Ricke indicated the field at Cummings Park will become available for adult games, previously
this field was used for little league and those games will now be at Perry Park.
.e
I
