Based upon our site visits to both the Cummings Park, and the _ <br /> MUNIOPAl I <br /> North Hamline Avenue locations, it appears that these areas may best be addressed under <br /> PlANNING one contract. This will allow the City to achieve some economies of scale to obtain the <br /> SOUOWASTE <br /> STRUC11JlAt most competitive bid prices possible. The project contract could be wrinen to allow the I <br /> SURVEYING City to select one or both of the improvements after the project has been bid, according <br /> TRAfFIC to the funds the City allocates from the Storm Water Maintenance Fund. <br /> iRANSPORTATION I <br /> Again, to summarize the twO projects addressed at our meeting on July 21 were the outlet <br /> EUGR1CAUMECHANlCAL from Lake Josephine on North Hamline Avenue and the ditch inlet to Karth Lake in <br /> ENGiNEERING: Cummings Park. The North Hamline project would consist of me replacement of culverts I <br /> H\1AC beneath the street, and ditch grading and modification of the flow line in an effort to <br /> poWER DlSTRIBunON reduce me sedimentation problems me ditch is currently exper~ncing. The estimated cost <br /> SCADA of this improvement is $32,000. I <br /> SYSTEM CONTllOlS <br /> The Karth Lake project consists of the construction of check dams along me length of the . <br /> ditch flowing into Karth Lake. In addition to this construction, it is recommended that the <br /> small foot bridge be replaced as it is a potential safety hazard to both pedestrians and <br /> bicyclists, as there are no railings and me bridge is approximately three feet narrower than I <br /> the actual trail. In addition to these improvements, it is recommended mat the wetland <br /> outlet further west along me trail receive outfall improvements to prevent me eminent <br /> erosion problems that appear to be starting already.
