.
.. asks Council to consider supporting the earlier recommendation of the
Public Works Safety Committee to install a multi-way stop sign at the
. intersection of County Road F and Fairview Avenue.
,
J. Public Works Ventilation System - The Council is asked to approve
. the bid from Apollo Heating & Ventilation in the amount of$18,400 to
construct a makeup air system in the Public Works Garage. This system is
necessary to respond to health and safety concerns. This bid is much
. higher than previously estimated, but appears to be the most complete in
reflecting the total scope of the necessary improvements.
. 4. Public Works 3/4 Ton Pickup - The Council is asked to approve the
acquisition of a 1995 Ford 3/4 ton 4X4 with a plow package from Superior
Ford. The cost of this item is $21,894.73. While this exceeds the
I budgeted amount of$18,OOO, Public Works Superintendent Stafford
believes it to be a much more valuable addition to the Department. He
I also will not be acquiring the $2,400 budgeted tail gate lift to compensate
for the increased pickup cost.
. 5. Midwest Asphalt - The Council is asked to approve pay estimate number
two (2) in the amount of$155,136.l3. The contractor has apparently
.- resolved the claims from those residents who experienced backup of the
sanitary sewer system. To date, no settlement has been made with the City
of Arden Hills for the $1,200 claim at Valentine Park or the Joel Ricke
claim which is estimated at $7,000. Mr. Stonehouse will be present to
. update the Council on this issue and is suggesting retainage of$33,904.01
which includes additional funds to address the outstanding claims.
. 6. TCAAP Undate
Mayor Probst or Mr. Ringwald will have some brief comments in regards
to September 9,1995, meeting with Congressman Vento's Reutilization
. Committee. The Met Council has a tour of the site planned for September
22,1995. I will accompany the Met Council on the tour and would ask
. Mayor Probst or Councilmember Malone to participate, if available.
2. Non-Agenda Items
I The Council may be interested in the following non-agenda items.
September 5. 1995. Letter to Dick Roessler
a.
. b. September 6.1995. Letter of Senator Janet Johnson - addressing her
comments about relocating the Prairie Island Sioux Community to Arden Hills.
. c. Booster Station At Red Fox Water Tower - Over the past week the City has
.. experienced communuication device failures at the booster station. It appears
that the City needs to replace some components of this system. Mr. Stafford
.
