1 , . i!lp
I. The cables connecting the equipment shelter to the antennas will be above ground from the shelter
to the inside of the fluted column wall of the Water Tower. The cables will then run up the inside
I of the tower and come out of the top hatch and connect to the whip antennas. For the panel .
antennas on the sides of the tower, a hole for the cabbies will be drilled through the fluted column
wall so the cables will remain hidden.
1 .....
The site will only require single phase 200 amp electrical service and T1 telephone for utilities.
These will be brought in underground. If permitted by the City, OneComm prefers to place 6 ft.
, cyclone security fence around the shelter.
, Ingress and egress to the shelter will be by a recorded easement utilizing the City's existing
driveway and a segment of new driveway to be built by OneComm. The site will be visited
approximately once a month by maintenance personnel using utility trucks.
, A site plan and tower elevation are attached to the Application form. The drainage of the site will
not be changed.
, ZONING AND SPECIAL USE STANDARDS
, The site is located in an 1-2 General Industrial District. All of the properties surrounding the site
are also 1-2.
,- The site meets the City's standards for special uses. The development will result in minor
alterations to the tank that will have no off site impacts. The equipment shelter will be in the rear
I or side of the property away from the road. The antennas will be visually unobtrusive and go
unnoticed by the casual observer.
I New wireless communication technology has developed rapidly in the past few years and many
new applications are vital to industrial and business uses. Business and industry will be seeking
out and adapting to these new technologies to remain competitive as the new Information
I Highway becomes a reality. Having access to these emerging wireless technologies will be an
important amenity for the success of future business parks.
I This site will enhance public safety and welfare because it will enable OneComm to bring this new
ES1v1R cellular technology to Arden Hills. The ability to transmit data such as fax, paging and
, computer data transmission will open a whole new way for business, individuals and government
services to communicate. Police can use ES'MR cellular fax machines as parr of their drug
enforcement program to obtain immediate search warrants when illegal activity is observed
I without leaving the scene. Firefighters can receive faxed blueprints of a building in route to more
safely fight fires. Ambulances can use it to transmit vital data to emergency rooms which allows
the emergency rooms to be better prepared to receive injured accident victims. At spill sites,
I hazardous material information can be obtained "on site" by accessing computer data bases
throughout the country with an ESMR cellular modem. Motorists who do not have the cellular
.
,
2
1
