~
. ~~HILLS
Approved: July 10,2006
CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA
CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
JUNE 26, 2006; 9:00 P.M.
ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Aplikowski called the meeting to order at 9:00 p.m.
Present: Mayor Aplikowski, Councilmembers Brenda Holden, Gregg Larson, and
Vinccnt Pellegrin.
Absent: Councilmember David Gra1lt (excused).
. Staff Present: City Administrator, Michelle Wolfe; Civil Engineer, Kris Giga.
3153 SHORELINE LANE DRIVEWAY DISCUSSION- 2004 PMP PROJECT
Civil Engineer Kris Giga explained that the driveway at this location was replaced as part of the
2004 PMP project. The residents have raised concerns about the driveway not draining properly,
and the presence of "bird baths." They are seeking repairs or replacement. Ms. Giga stated that
there is a hole in the driveway near the garage apron, and that there is a possibility that this could
be due to a water or sewer service leak. This hole is probably the largest concern regarding the
driveway.
Mayor Aplikowski stated that her main concern regards the hole, and that the cause of the hole
needs to be cxplored.
Members of City Council are hesitant to do any kind of repair to the driveway until the source of
the hole is discovered.
Ms. Giga stated that ifthc City's sanitary sewer televising equipment is not capable of televising
service lines, that it would cost around $300 to get a sewer service such as Roto-rooter out to do
the televising.
.
