Rex McClung Acting Mayor; motion passed unanimously with McClung abstain- <br />ing. <br /> <br />Doep:1er moved a motion, which was secooded, that when we ad- <br />journ we do so to meet Friday, March 23rd, at 8 0 I clock, in the Town Hall, <br />jointly with the Town Board of the Township of Mounds View, for the purpose of <br />consider1ng a division of certain flUlds in the Town Treasury and dispose of <br />certain other matters; motion carried lUlanimously. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Doep:1er moved and McClung seconded a motion that a letter written <br />by Town Attorney Vincent P. Dourtney to Town Clerk IIvine L. Bucher be referred <br />to Trustee Mack for study and report at the next regular meeting of the council; <br />the letter deals with the title and use of the town hall; motion carried unani- <br />mously. <br /> <br />Cummings moved and Doepner seconded a motion to table a letter <br />frOJll the League of Minnesota Municipalities inviting the village to becOJlle a <br />member; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />At about this point the council recessed for a group photo <br />taken for The Rose Tribune. <br /> <br />McClung moved and Delange secooded a motion authorizing the clerk <br />to purchase the follOwing for the village: 1 minute book, 1 ordinance book, 2 <br />constable manuals, 2 justice of the peace manuals, and such miscellaneous office <br />supplies as may be fOlUld necessary, and also to get a quotation on a supply of <br />letterheads and EnVelOpeS; motion carried unan:iJnously. <br /> <br />Mayor Cummings appointed the following committee to investigate <br />fire protection contracts: <br />. McClung to contact the A.1ms Plant Fire Dept. <br />DeLange to contact the Spring Lake Park Fire Dept. <br />Mack to contact the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Dept. <br />Doepner to contact the Roseville Fire f ept.. <br /> <br />In this connection Doepner reported that Ernie Nelson of the Lake Johanna Fire <br />Dept. stated to hime over the phone that his department as well as the Spring <br />Lake Park department 1'IOuld give us protection lUltil formal contracts have been <br />entered into. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />The clerk read a letter dated March 15th, 1951 from The Rose <br />Tribune quoting rates of 6o~ per folio inch and 10~ for additional tabular <br />matter. Thereupon Doepner lIDVed and Mack sec a1ded a motion that the said Rose <br />Tribune be designated as the officiaJ. newspaper of the Village of Arden Hills <br />for the year 1951 at the rates quoted; motion carried lUlan:iJnously. <br /> <br />Mayor ClIIllmings announced that he appointed John J. Sexton to <br />represent him at a meeting of Ramsey County Village Mayors called for the <br />purpose of considering the question of electing assessors by the villages in- <br />stead of having them appointed by the COlUlty Assessor upon recommendation by <br />the mayor; a rejDrt is to be made at a subsequent meeting. <br /> <br />Mack moved and Lbepner sec ooded a motion that we adept the <br />current Ramsey County Building Code lUltil such time as we can prepare and adopt <br />our own; motion carried lUlanimously. <br /> <br />""." <br /> <br />"'.~--' ~ .. ~ <br /> <br />_.::""O""'..IL.>>~..~~ <br />
