Mack moved and Doepner secooded a motion that we adopt the same <br />schedule of fees for building permits now used by Mounds View Township; motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Currmings moved and Doepner secooded a motion that we appoint Melvin <br />Hurlbert, the building inspector for Mounds View Township, as building inspector <br />for the Village of Arden Hills for a period of 30 days; carried unanimously. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Cummings moved and Doepner secooded a motion to authorize Ramsey <br />County Surveyor to remove snow from all streets in Arden Hills when necessary <br />for the season of 1951, also to sand streets when in slippery condition; motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The Clerk read a letter dated March 14th from the County Auditor's <br />office reporting On funds available to the village during 1951, as follows: <br />Cigarette license fund (warrant- in payment) $ 95.57 <br />Taxes paid since Nov. 1, 1950, due the village, <br />exclusive of Feb., 1951 collections <br />1950 R.E. taxes payable in 1951 - village share <br />Liquor license fund (warrant in payment) <br />Cigarette tax ef)i6(jl!r capita semiannually <br />Liquor tax 50i/per eapita semiannually <br />The said letter also sta.ted that the assessed value of real property for 1950 <br />is as follows: MOlll1ds View Township $1,452,237.00, Village of Arden Hills <br />$274,502.00; total $1,726,739.00. The said letter also mentions that the <br />village will not benefit from any personal property collections in 1951, which <br />will go to the township. <br /> <br />74.12 <br />3,466.96 <br />56.78. <br /> <br />The clerk also read a letter from the County Surveyor showing the <br />amount to our credit in the $40,000.00 gas fund, as follows: <br />Village share of the Town's $4658.98 is $749.71, of which $61.13 has been <br />spent from Feb. 14 to Feb. 25th, leaving a balance of $688.58 to our credit as <br />of Feb. 26, 1951. The estinated expenditure from Feb. 26 to Mar. 14 is $150.00. <br /> <br />DeLange moved and Mack seconded a motion that the council meet with <br />the Ramsey County Surveyor's deputy, Mr. Al Crampton, on March 21, between 7 & 8 <br />(the clerk to ascertain the correct time and notify the council) at the Ramsey <br />County Tool Shop on Rice and Owasso Blvd.; carried unanimously. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mack moved and Cummings seconded a motion that the clerk write Sheriff <br />Tom Gibbons that the Village of Arden Hills is gladly willing to come under the <br />present Civilian Defense Program of Ramsey County and appoints Ralph W. Hunt <br />commander of civilian defense of Arden Hills under the direction of the Co-direc- <br />tor of Ramsey Co., and that the said comnander be authorized to make his own <br />appointments, except that Otto C. Graffunder is appointed Chief of Auxiliary <br />Police of Arden Hills; carried unanimously. <br /> <br />DeLange moved and Doepner seconded a motion designating the last <br />Monday of EBch month, at 8 o'clock p.m., for holding regular meetings of the <br />council; carried Wlanimous1y. II <br /> <br />No action was taken on the adopt on of by-laws of which a draft was <br />mailed to each council member, because such copy was delivered too late to be <br />studied by them.
