<br />6 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF MEETING OF T1{E COUNCIL OF THE <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS. MINNESOTA <br />Held in the Town Hall. Monday. March 26th. 1951 <br /> <br />The cOWlcil meeting was called to order promptly by Mayor Cwmlings. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />All council members were present. <br /> <br />Minutes of the first council meeting held March 15th were read and <br />approved without correction. <br /> <br />Minutes of the adjourned council meeting held Mil,rch 23rd were read <br />and also approved without correction. <br /> <br />At the Mayor's request the derk gave a full reading of "An Ordi- <br />nance Establishing Rules Governing Conduct and Procedure of the Village <br />Council of Arden Hills, Minnesota," of which a full copy was mailed to each <br />council member previous to the March 15th meeting. Thereupon Rule 30 was <br />amended by motion by striking the 21st and 22nd words "one day" and insert- <br />ing in lieu thereof the words "three days, Sundays and holidays excepted," <br />and also by striking the words "one day's" occuring thereafter and inserting <br />in lieu thereof "two days." Rule 3 was amended (by motion) by striking the <br />amount "ten" and inserting in lieu thereof the amount "five," which was <br />carried unanimously; Rule 33 was amended (by motion) by adding after the 7th <br />word the \~rds "in duplicate," and adding a second sentence after the first <br />to read "The clerk to retain the original and deliver the duplicate to the <br />mayor," which was carried unanimously. McClung moved and Mack seconded a <br />motion to adopt the above-entitled ordinance as sO amended, which was carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />lfun Andrews of Siems Court appeared before the council with a complaint <br />of the condition of that road at the turn-around and requested that it be <br />fixed; Doepner moved and DeLange seconded a motion referring the matter to <br />the Public WOrks Committee for investigation and report at a later meeting; <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Cumnings moved and DeLange seconded a motion instructing the clerk to <br />contact the surveyor's office first thing in the morning to open to a 2-lane <br />width all streets in the original Arden Hills addition (west of N.Snelling <br />Ave. and south of Lake Johanna Blvd.) requiring such attention so as to make <br />them passable; carried unanimous~. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Cummings moved and lbej:t'ler seconded a motion that the cOWlcil hold a <br />special meeting Monday, April 2, in the Town Hall, at $ o'clock P.M., for the <br />purpose of organizing the Civil Defense of Arden Hills, the clerk to mail <br />notices; carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Doepner moved and McClung seconded a motion to approve Public-Official's <br />Bond No. z~86635 , of The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York, <br />issued to Worth G. Read as treasurer, in the amount of .JliL,OOO.OO; carried <br />unanimously. <br />
