<br />9 <br /> <br />At the Mayor's request the clerk read a letter from the County <br />Assessor's office appointing Wilbert M. Krautkremer village assessor pursu- <br />ant to recanmendation. <br /> <br />Mack moved and DeLange seconded a motion that Melvin Hurlbert's <br />appointment as building inspector for the village be extended for thirty <br />days, that is to include April 15th, 1951, the clerk to notify him. accordingly; <br />carried unan i.mous ly. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On fire protection DeLange, McClung, Mack, and Doepner each made a <br />report on their respective committee assignments. The clerk was instructed <br />to write Col. Edward G. Miller, Commanding Officer of the Twin Cities Arsenal, <br />Minneapolis 1, as to the extent of fire protection the Arms Plant fire depart- <br />ment would be willing to contribute in the ~ of equipment, provided we fur- <br />nished manpower as our p3.rtic ipation; Doepner moved and Cwnmings seconded a <br />motion to refer the matter of fire protection to the Committee on Public Safety, <br />the foregoing members to report hereafter to the chairman of said committee <br />instead of individually to the cOlU1cil; carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The clerk read a quotation from two firms (The Rose Tribune and <br />KallllllaIl-Art l-rinting Co.) quoting prices on letterheads and envelopes for the <br />village; McClung moved and Doepner seconded a Ilotion the we buy 500 each <br />white letterheads and envelopes from The Rose Tribune for $10.00; carried. <br /> <br />The Mayor reported that Mr. John J. Sexton reported to him on the <br />assessors' meeting which he attended, but that nothing \\QS done; there will be <br />another meeting which he will attend. . <br /> <br />Mayor Cummings announced the following complete standing Committee <br />appointments as follows: <br /> <br />1. FINANCE <br /> <br />Herman J. Doepner, chairman, Walter T. Mack and <br />Wilbert M. Krautkremer. <br /> <br />2. RJBLIC SAFETY - Walter T. Mack, chairman, Herman J. Doepner, and <br />Ot to C. Graffunder. <br /> <br />3. RJBLIC WORKS - B. J. DeLange, chairman, K. Rex McClung, and <br />Worth G. Read. <br /> <br />4. FUBLIC VELFARE - K. Rex McClung, chairman, B. J. DeLange, and <br />Frank M. Schmitt. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />McClung moved and DeLange seconded a motion that we designate the <br />First State Bank of New Brighton, Minn. as the official depository for the <br />Village of Arden Hills upon recOllllllendation by Treasurer Read; carried. <br /> <br />CUIllIllings moved and Doepner seconded a motion that the clerk order a <br />supply of checks, 3-to-a-page, similar to those used by the Town of Mounds <br />View per copy shown, for use by the treasurer; carried. <br /> <br />Mack reported on the town hall title similarly to what \\QS reported <br />in the March 23rd council meeting milnutes; he will discuss the matter with <br />the town's attorney and report further at a subsequent meeting. <br />
