9 At the Mayor's request the clerk read a letter from the County Assessor's office appointing Wilbert M. Krautkremer village assessor pursu- ant to recanmendation. Mack moved and DeLange seconded a motion that Melvin Hurlbert's appointment as building inspector for the village be extended for thirty days, that is to include April 15th, 1951, the clerk to notify him. accordingly; carried unan i.mous ly. . On fire protection DeLange, McClung, Mack, and Doepner each made a report on their respective committee assignments. The clerk was instructed to write Col. Edward G. Miller, Commanding Officer of the Twin Cities Arsenal, Minneapolis 1, as to the extent of fire protection the Arms Plant fire depart- ment would be willing to contribute in the ~ of equipment, provided we fur- nished manpower as our p3.rtic ipation; Doepner moved and Cwnmings seconded a motion to refer the matter of fire protection to the Committee on Public Safety, the foregoing members to report hereafter to the chairman of said committee instead of individually to the cOlU1cil; carried unanimously. The clerk read a quotation from two firms (The Rose Tribune and KallllllaIl-Art l-rinting Co.) quoting prices on letterheads and envelopes for the village; McClung moved and Doepner seconded a Ilotion the we buy 500 each white letterheads and envelopes from The Rose Tribune for $10.00; carried. The Mayor reported that Mr. John J. Sexton reported to him on the assessors' meeting which he attended, but that nothing \\QS done; there will be another meeting which he will attend. . Mayor Cummings announced the following complete standing Committee appointments as follows: 1. FINANCE Herman J. Doepner, chairman, Walter T. Mack and Wilbert M. Krautkremer. 2. RJBLIC SAFETY - Walter T. Mack, chairman, Herman J. Doepner, and Ot to C. Graffunder. 3. RJBLIC WORKS - B. J. DeLange, chairman, K. Rex McClung, and Worth G. Read. 4. FUBLIC VELFARE - K. Rex McClung, chairman, B. J. DeLange, and Frank M. Schmitt. . McClung moved and DeLange seconded a motion that we designate the First State Bank of New Brighton, Minn. as the official depository for the Village of Arden Hills upon recOllllllendation by Treasurer Read; carried. CUIllIllings moved and Doepner seconded a motion that the clerk order a supply of checks, 3-to-a-page, similar to those used by the Town of Mounds View per copy shown, for use by the treasurer; carried. Mack reported on the town hall title similarly to what \\QS reported in the March 23rd council meeting milnutes; he will discuss the matter with the town's attorney and report further at a subsequent meeting.
