Swenson et al for permission to <br />reppen culvert located on Highway Nc. 10, 300 feet west of Hamline avenue; <br />Cummings moved and Doepner seconded a motion, which was carried, to refer the <br />petition to the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER: The Clerk reported that he invited bids from five <br />newspapers for the pu.blication of legal notices, e to., of whic'h two resp onded, <br />that of The Rose ~ibune being the lowest; he thereupon introduced the following: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />"RESOlliTION NO. ~ - DESIGJ",-TING OFFICIAL NEWSl'Al'ER. <br /> <br />"WHEREAS The Rose Tribune, 1286 Rice Street, St. Paul 3, Minnesota, <br />has submitted the lowest bid for publishing the village's legal notices, <br />erdinances, resolutions, and financial statement for the oalendar year of <br />1~52, at sixty (60) cents per folie inch and ten (10) cents per folie aGo <br />ditienal for tabular matter, and qualifies as a legal newspaper. <br />"~REFOBE BE IT RESOLVED that the said 1'he Rose ~ibune is hereby <br />designated as the offical newspaper ef the villa[;e for the year 1952 at <br />said rates, and <br />"BE IT RESOLVED :ru:R'lF.ER that this resolution be published ence in <br />sai d official rumpaper and pested in three conspicuous places wi thin said <br />village." <br /> <br />By motion made and seconded the reselution was passed unanimously. <br /> <br />APPOIN~lliNTS: Cummings meved and Doepner seconded a motien to reappoint <br />Dr. John A. Mega health officer, and Melvin Hurlbert building inspector, fer the <br />oalendar year 1~52, beth being present accepted, and thereupon the motion was <br />carried =imcusly, <br /> <br />ACTING MAYOR: Mack moved and Delange seconded a motion that the oouncil <br />declare K. Rex McClung aoting maycr for the calendar year 1~52; carried unani_ <br />mously. <br /> <br />ASSESSOR'S PLaTS: Upon the recommendation of Building Inspector Hurlbert <br />the Clerk was directed to precure from the County Assessor's office, at cost, <br />two sets of Ozalid prints of all sections compesing the Village of Arden Hills, <br />toget:er with one key map, one set to be retained by the Clerk, the other :fer <br />use by the building insllec tor . <br /> <br />~III&GE R.il.~S: The Clerk introduced "Resolution No.. 10 - Establishing <br />Mileage Rate" at 7t'1 per mile travelled, which was net seconded. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CLAIMS: McClung moved and Mack seconded a motion, which was carried, to <br />pay the following claims as submitted by the Clerk: <br /> <br />1~52 Series: <br />if 1 - .....lter Cummings, mayer's salary fer 1951 <br />2 ~ Herman J.
