The proposed project is a 41,000 square -foot building that will serve as a
fire station, replacing the existing Fire Station 4, and headquarters for the department. Using the
land use code for a Fire and Rescue Station (575) from the Institute of Transportation Engineers
(ITE) Trip General Manual, 111" Edition, it is estimated that there will be 20 PM peak hour trips
(6 inbound trips and 14 outbound trips). The ITE Trip Generation Manual does not have rates in
the AM peak hour. It is estimated that this project will not generate more than 100 peak hour
trips and a traffic impact study is not required.
