<br />144 <br /> <br />:Mi:nutes of' Regular IIeeting <br /> <br />Council ot' the Village of Arden Hills <br /> <br />Tuesday, March 30, 1954 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to oroer Bt :3:07 P.M. by Acting-Mayor, <br />Mc Cluns. <br />M <br />Roll Call: Mc Clung, Ashback, Ludlow present; Ma.ck arrived at <br />8:1t-5 P.I'I. ......... ..... <br /> <br />The minutes of the Januarty 25th meeting were read by the clerk. <br />There were.no additions or corrections; the Y1inutes stood approv- <br />ed as reael.. <br />The minut88 of the March 2nd meeting were read .by the clerk. <br />There were.no additions or corrections; the minutes stood approv- <br />ed as reac1. <br /> <br />Acting-Mayor, Mc Clung, spoke of the passing of our mayor, <br />Walter CUl'lmings, a man respetted enohonored by all residents of <br />our village. In accordance with Minnesota law the council <br />appoints a successor to fill out the unexpired term of office <br />of anyvacated council position.. Ludlow moved and Mc Clung se- <br />conoed a motion aPPOinting Robert Ashbaclf, mayor, to fill the <br />unexpired terM of office of former yrrayor, C~mings. There was <br />no discussion. Mr. AShback refra.ined from voting, and these <br />present voted unanimously. that the motion be carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Ashback stated he would endeavor to carryon the policies <br />anc, plans our former mayor had for the village. <br /> <br />The clerk administered the oath to Mayor Ashbach. <br /> <br />Mr. Ashbach resigned as trustee. ]1c Clung moved and Ludlow <br />seconded a motion accepth'?: Mr. Ashbach' s resignation. The <br />motion carried. Luolow moved and ]1c Clung seconded a motion <br />appointinG B. d. De LanGe trustee and road commissioner - <br />carried. <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />Ludlow moved e.nd. Ashbach seconded I) motion appointing Mc Clung <br />acting-mayor for the year 1954 - such motion to be retroactive <br />to January 1, 195h. Mc Clung abstained from voting; the motion <br />carried. unanimously. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mrs. Arthur Spear of 3505 North Ridgeviood Rd. representing the <br />]lother's Protest Committee, read a resolution requesting the <br />Metropoli tan Airports C01'l"1ission to delay final decision on <br />the expansion of the Anoka County Airport until suburban resi- <br /> <br />! <br />
