<br />-.,.--., <br /> <br />151 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />~oU}rCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ~~DEN HILLS <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Tuesday, June 1, 1954 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:27 P.M. by Mayor Ashbach. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Present - Ashbach, Mc Clung, Mack, Ludlow <br />Absent - De Lange <br /> <br />The minutes of the April 26th meeting were read by the clerk. <br />Mack moved said minutes should include a statement to the effect <br />that no~recompense for mileage should be paid to Special Police <br />Officer Mc Neil by the Village of Arden Hills. There was no <br />second to the motion. The minutes stood approved as read, <br /> <br />The minutes of the special meeting of Tuesday, May 11, were <br />read by the clerk. There were no additions or corrections. The <br />minutes stood approved as read. <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Nelson of Sauers Construction Co. and Mr. S. J. Krannak <br />appeared to ask the council if the general outline of the pro~ <br />posed plat of Valentine Heights #2 located on Co. Rd, F & T.H, #10 <br />was acceptable. They were advised the plat would be submitted to <br />the planning cOFnittee for a report at the next regular meeting <br />of the counciL <br /> <br />Finance - The clerk reported a treasury balance of $13,811.06 <br />as of June 1, 1954. <br />Public Safety * Ch. Mc Clung moved that Mr. V. L. Wever be <br />appointed Chief of Police of the Village of Arden Hills at'a <br />compensation for wages and car allowance not to exceed-$25.00 <br />per mo, Such appointment to be effective as of June 1, 1954 <br />and to run until such time as the appointment might be re- <br />scinded by the council. Mack seconded the motion. The motion <br />carried unanimously. The mayor added a note of commendation to <br />the other council members for their appointment of a chief of <br />police. <br /> <br />PUBLic Works - Bills were submitted to the clerk for payment. <br />Traffic signs are to be put up where needed. A survey on sp~ed <br />will be made in the village. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Public Welfare - Ch. Mack reported that new owners of Lakeview <br />Terrace Club had indicated they would take care of the cess <br />pool drainage prOblem. <br /> <br />Ludlow moved Mack be authorized to purchase a plaque commemora- <br />ting the first mayor of the village, Walter Cummings, at a cost <br />not to exceed $65.00. Mc Clung seconded the motion which <br />
