Page 2 of 15 <br /> <br /> <br />In 2013, Bethel University purchased the property at 2 Pine Tree Drive to use the existing office <br />building for higher education. This location is known as the Anderson Center campus. In 2020, <br />Bethel University subdivided the approximate 43 acre site into three (3) parcels known as the 2 <br />Pine Tree North plat. The Applicant purchased Lot 2 Block 1 of that plat in 2020. The other lot <br />as part of this plat is now the location of New Perspective Senior Living. <br /> <br />Aerial Map <br /> <br />During the platting process, the Applicant was conducting their due diligence on the potential for <br />acquiring the Subject Property. In 2018, the Applicant had completed a study that determined the <br />need for a new Fire Station to be built on a site that could support the communities and their <br />needs over "the next 50 years". It was determined that at a minimum the Department needed at <br />least three (3) acres. This study also noted the future Fire Station should include six (6) drive <br />through bays and living/sleeping quarters. The new Fire Station would then because of size and <br />equipment housed would transition to become the new Headquarters Station and include <br />necessary operational and training functions. <br /> <br />The Department is currently overseen by a Board of Directors, the Board (“Board”) consists of <br />City representatives (one (1) Arden Hills rep, one (1) North Oaks rep, and two (2) Shoreview <br />reps) and three (3) members from the Department.
