<br />3 <br /> <br />Perennial gardens on-going maintenance, which includes weeding, re-planting and mulching will be <br />completed, as needed, at the 22 garden locations shown on the map below. A combination of labor is <br />utilized as available. <br /> <br />• Split daylilies from Highway 96 gardens and re-plant to fill gardens around the city as needed. <br />Irrigation system maintenance is started in the spring and winterized in the fall. During spring startup, <br />PW FTE’s test each system is operating properly and make any repairs as needed. Throughout the <br />summer months, the irrigation systems need to be periodically checked for efficient watering and <br />adjusted as needed. Listed below are the parks and city-owned property maintained by PW: <br />• City Hall <br />• Highway 96 median gardens (between Highway 10 and Lexington Ave) <br />• Cummings Park <br />• Perry Park <br />• Hazelnut Park <br />• Triangle monument sign property <br />An improvement to the Perry Dog Park can be made, if time allows, to tap-off of the existing irrigation <br />system to supply a water source for public use while the dog park is open. <br />Create a plan and cost estimates for a permanently installed irrigation system along Lake Shore Place. <br />Spot Planting replacement and addition of irrigation to Lake Shore Place landscaping. <br />Our PW Tree Inspector completed an inspection of the landscaping in 2023. There is a total of 35 <br />arborvitae bushes that run along the east side of the roadway. Of the 35, 17 were determined in need of <br />replacement. With the condition of the soils, and location the bushes are planted, irrigation is necessary <br />to ensure proper growth. <br />Highway 96 median and City Hall perennial gardens are scheduled for spot plant replacement or infill <br />from dead plants.
