Page 3 of 3 <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />The Public Works Director/City Engineer is proposing that Phase 1 be implemented starting <br />January 2, 2025. <br /> <br />Looking at the CIP for 2025, there are many Parks related projects and there have been recent <br />discussions by Council of conducting a Parks Master Plan. It would be ideal to have the Parks <br />and Recreation Manager position in place at the beginning of 2025 to coordinate and manage <br />those processes. If staff receives direction for the proposed timing of this position, recruitment <br />will need to begin in September 2024. <br /> <br />For the Maintenance Lead positions, due to the cycle of the Public Works Maintenance Plan and <br />this position being a new function to the existing maintenance team, it’s expected to take some <br />time to develop and train the staff to their new roles.
