<br />238 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGUIAR MEETING <br />COUNCIL OF THE VILL/lGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br />Monday, June 2fi, 1956 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Mayor Ashbach. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL: Present; Ashbach, McClung, Stromquist <br />Absent; Hoyt, Delange <br /> <br />The minutes of the May 28, June 1, and the June 15 meetings of the <br />~ Counoil were read by the Clerk and approved by tee Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Frank Mathes, presented a petition requesting that Lots 1 & 2, Blook <br />4, Arden Hills 2 be rezoned from Commeroila to Residential. Mr. Mathes <br />stated that it is the opinion of the Minnesota Highway Department that a <br />commercial establishment at that looation might create a traffic hazard. <br />A request was made that the commercial sign be taken down. No aotion was <br />taken by the Council at the June 25 meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Lyle Sauers reqaested preliminary approval for Shorewood Hills 6. <br />After Council disoussion, and upon prior recommendation given by Dr. Hoyt, <br />Plan~ing Board Chairman, McClung moved and Stromqlist seconded the motion <br />giving preliminary approval to the Shorewood Hills 6 plat. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Mr. Harold O'Laughlin presented a petition requesting the reaoning of <br />Lots 13,ll,lB,lJ,~.,l8, Block 1 l_~_ _,.,~,w, ~Lu~l. _, Shadey Oaks <br />Addition from Residential to Commercial. Mr. Behr, owner of Lot 19, Block <br />1, Shadey Oaks Addition appeared before the Council to oppose the request, <br />and wanted information as to what is planned for the property if it is <br />rezoned. The matter was to be called to the attention of the Planning <br />Board. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Y~s. Wilmus presented a copy of Roseville Terrace 10 and requested approval <br />for the plat. The plat was taken by Clerk, and Clerk was requested to <br />oheck with Roseville in regard to County Road~D, as to whether their <br />Counoil have approved that road. <br /> <br />Mr. John Sexton, land Use and Zoning Committee Chairman presented a copy <br />of the Zoning Ordinance for Arden Hills and reoommended its adoption. <br />The master plan was filed with the Clerk. An Open Meeting is to be held <br />July 2 on the Zoning Ordinance. Mayor Ashbaoh and the Council thanked <br />Mr. Sexton and the Planning Board for all the work they have put into <br />planning the Zoning W~p and Ordinance. <br /> <br />Mr. Hugo Radman and Mr. Jim Olson presented a plen for a proposed trailer <br />park or mobile home park on the property East of Ham&ine Avenue behind <br />the Arden Hills lumber yard. The matter was referred to the planning <br />Board. <br /> <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE: Clerk reported a balance in the treasury of $16,519.05. <br /> <br />PUBLIC SAFE'fY COMMITTEE: Mr. MoClung reported that he ohecked into the <br />dog ordinance used at Falcon Heights. He reported that a compromise in <br />a dog ordinance is difficult to arrive at, and suggested that an informal <br />Counoil and Public Safety Committee meeting be planned to discuss the <br />problem. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE: Mr. Delange was absent. <br />
