<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />24-8 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br />MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 1956 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Acting Mayor Hoyt. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Present; Hoyt, Delange, McClung, Stromquist <br />Absent; Ashbach <br /> <br />Dr. Hoyt read the Village Engineer's letter of recommendations i8 regard <br />to the roads in the Zilliox pfdt. Hoyt yielded the chair to Mc~lung <br />and moved tl~t we accept the Zilliox plat for final approval subject <br />to the following conditions: <br />I. That N~. Delange receive the Village Engineer'S recommendations <br />as to drainage and culvert placements. <br />2. 'rhat Mr. Stepnitz furnish the Village of Arden Hills with a <br />performance bond l~ times the cost of the proposed road, or <br />according to the recommeddations of the Village Engineer, and <br />that lu. Stepnitz gaurantee completion of the streets of the <br />plat by July 1, 1957. <br />3. That there be a five ton min. load limit or 2~ ton axel limit <br />on the streets. <br />4. ~hat the Village will provide snow removal for the winter of <br />1956-57 and that roads shall be kept in passable condition <br />by the developer. <br />Mr. Delange seconded the motion and it was passed by the Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Carley presented specifications for the roads of Shorewood Hills 6. <br />lu. Carley stated that in regard to the question of the dead end <br />street that the sewage and water lines might be more expensive to lay <br />in such a steeet, that many residents prefer such streets which offer <br />more privacy and less traffic than regular streets, and that many new <br />plat designs have such streets. No action was taken by the Council <br />on Shorewood Hills 6. Dr. Hoyt suggested that the road specifications <br />to referred to 1~. Delange for his recoD~lendations. <br /> <br />Mrs. Chal'lotte Dalyls Attorney, 1~. Thompson appeared to discuss the <br />matter of the Daley dog kennel. After discussion between tw. Thompson <br />and our ~illage Attorney, lu. Courtney, it was concluded that Mrs. <br />Daly should cease operation of the kennel by December I, 1956 as <br />requested by the Council at a prior meeting. <br /> <br />FINANCE COMMI!TEE: Mrs. Stro~ist reported a balance in the treasury <br />September 24, 1956 of $15,966~64. A meeting was set for Septmeber 29 <br />at 9:00 A.M. at the Village Hall for action on the proposed 1957 budget <br />and tax levy. Mrs. Stromquist reported that the F'inance Committee had <br />held several meetings, one held with the Council members present, and <br />set up the proposed budget of ~28,830.30, based on the requests made by <br />Village Officers. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS COtUtiITTEE: Mr. Delange read a letter from Mr. Carley, <br />Village Engineer, in regard to damage to village streets by NSP due <br />to gas installation in the village. Action on the matter was deferred <br />until the next meeting when 1~yor AShbach will be present. <br />
