<br /> ~n <br /> 252 <br /> MINUTES OF REGUIAR MEETING <br /> COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> Monday. October 29. 1956 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by looyor Ashbach. <br /> Roll Call: Present; Ashbach, Delange, Hoyt, Stromquist. <br /> Absent; McClung <br /> N~. Frank Dablow. 1234 Tiller Lane requested the Council to check into the <br /> situation of a house on Tiller Lane that has remained unfinished for over <br /> ~ year. ~w. Dablow stated that it is a possible hazard to children playing <br /> in tne area. The Council requested Village Attorney. Mr. courtney to write <br /> to the o.ner. Yw. Joseph Surina regarding the hazards involved and the <br /> possibility of condemnation of the building. Mr. Courtney was requested to <br /> check into the matter of setting up a completion date for new houses. <br /> ww. Lewis requested Council permission to mix detergent powder and paste <br /> at the residential location at 1524 Highway 96. Mr. Krautkremer. present <br /> owner of the home stated that the neighbors do not object providing t:lere <br /> are no employees other than ~w. and 1ws. Lewis. 1w. Lewis stated that no <br /> delivery trucks are involved. Mr. Courtney. Village Attorney advised the <br /> Council that they have no authority to allow a non-conforming use to the <br /> present zoning ordinance without alnmending the ordinance to fit the use. <br /> The Council requested Dr. Hoyt, Planning Board Chairman to check with Mr. <br /> Talbot Jones concerning a "home liIccupancy" possibility as defined in our <br /> zoning ordinance. <br /> Lyle Sauers, representing the Geo. R. Sauers Company appeared and presented <br /> Shorewood Hills 3 (formerly called S.H.4) for Council consideration, and <br /> requested that, upon completion of details, Clerk be instructed to sign the <br /> plat. Ww. Sauers was requested by Council to get working copies to Dr. Hoyt. <br /> of a profile map of grades for the plat. Clerk was requested to check <br /> correspondence from the Village Engineer in regard to the bonding requirement <br /> for the plat. <br /> Upon request of Leslie Nordin. 4145 No. Hamline (structure address) and upon <br /> recommendation from the Building Inspector, Dr. Hoyt moved and Stromquist <br /> seconded the motion that we issue a permit to teslie Nordin to live in the <br /> basement at 4145 No. Hamline while he completes the home, and that the permit <br /> exten~ until December 30, 1957. Motion passed. <br /> FINANCE CO~~ITTEE: Mrs. Stromquist reported a balance in the treasury of <br /> $16,625 .12. <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY C01ITJITTEE: ~w. Weber, Police Cheif stated that the police <br /> Department had a very busy month with many varied complaints, fires, etc. <br /> ~PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE: 1w. Delange reported that all culverts have been <br /> cleaned. <br /> !>II'. Dealnage advis ed Counc il to dec ide at next meeting, after hearing j,w. <br /> Carley'S recommendations, whether or not to release the performance bond for <br /> Shorewood Hills. ~ <br /> The requests' for new street names for Jenson Avenue and off Siems Court <br /> were referred to Dr. Hoyt and the Planning Co~nittee. <br /> PUBLIC 'NELFARE COMIHT'fEE: Dr. Hoyt reproted that except for a few minor <br /> cor::rections, the Arden Hills Zoqing Ordinance was ready for publication. <br /> and that he would get it to the vlerk during the next month. <br />
