<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br />Monday, April 14, 1955 <br /> <br />RThe meCaeltli~.g was called to order at 5:00 P.M. by Mayor Ashbach. <br />oIl Present; Ashbach, Winfrey, Crepeau, Stromquist <br />Absent; DeLange <br /> <br />The minutes of the March 31, 1955 Council meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />~. Kennedy reguested that Council reoonsider ~heir action taken to obtain <br />asements IK2,3, & 4 of Auditor's subdivision #50 from Mounds View Town- <br />.ShiP. Mr. ennedy requested that if the Village does not need them that <br />they be returned to the original owner, Mr. Cederholm. The matter w~s re- <br />ferred to Trustees Crepeau and Winfrey. <br /> <br />Mr. John Lambros~ 3213 Ridgewood Road complained that the neighbors throw <br />rubbish next to ~he fence on his property and that the children shoot be-be <br />and 22 rifles at a sign on his property. Mr. Weber, Chief of Police <br />informed Council that this has been a problem in the past and that the <br />Court has tal.ed with the people responsible. The shooting problem has <br />been referred to the Juvinille Department of Ramsey County and Arden Hills <br />will await the outcome of their decision before further action is taken. <br /> <br />Douglas Barthany reported that a group of 25 to 30 youngsters were discovered <br />having a beer party at Co. Rd. F and Hamline Avenue on ryrivate property <br />there. The group all le~t the scene except those in two cars, and took all <br />beer cans etc with them. Mr. Barthany felt that we should have an ordinance <br />against parking on private property. The matter was referred to the Public <br />Safety Committee. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Winfrey} seconoed by Crepeau, Council i8 to have the village <br />ordinances printed in oooklet 15M form, cos~ to be taken from the Public <br />Welfare budget. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Finance Committee: Mrs. Stromquist reported on a meeting held of the Finance <br />Committee with the Attorney in attendance. The Committee report, as - <br />submitted by the Attorney, in regard to purc~ase of the Village Hall, <br />the Kenna property, and the financing of the Grant Road project was read <br />to the Council. The Finance Committee recommended that the Counoil agree <br />to purchase the Village Hall for $9500.00 with the details of the financing <br />of ~e purohase to be worked out later, and that if we are to issue bonds <br />for both the hall and the Kenna property, that we try to conbine them into <br />one bond issue to save bonding agent fees. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Crepeau, seoonded by Winfrey, the Counoil agreed to purohase <br />Village Hall at 1450 Hlghway 96, sub~eot zax to a olear title, with the <br />details of the purohase to be worked out at a later date. Motion passed. <br /> <br />4IJJpon motion by Stromquist, seoonded by Crepeau, Village Attorney was author- <br />ized to prooeed with bond issue for purohase of the Kenna property. Motion <br />passed. The bond issue to be held up until method of financing of Village <br />Hall is decided upon. <br /> <br />th <br />
