<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR ~-lESTING <br />COUNCIL, OF THE VILLAGE" OF, ARDEN HILLS <br />~!onday,May 26, 195~ <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at ~:OO P.M. by Mayor Ashbach. <br />Roll Call: Present; Ashbach, Winfrey, Crepeau, Stromquist. <br />Absent; DeLange - <br /> <br />The Minutes of the May 12, 1953 meeting of the Council were read and <br />. approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Earl Jensen, 3197 Je~sen Avenue requested permission to put a base- <br />ment under his house, which is smaller than our ordinance allows. The <br />matter was referred to the Public Welfare Committee. <br /> <br />Mayor Gibson of Mounds View inquired of the status of the village hall <br />sale. Our Attorney is to work out details with Mounds View Attorney. <br /> <br />Mr. Baugh, Heating Inspector, reported a problem when some heating in- <br />stallation deale~s fail to take out proper village licenses and permits. <br />The list was presented to Mr. Crepeau for police department action. <br /> <br />A complaint of the hazard caused by old bat~~ouses at the County park <br />at Lake Johanna was referred to the Public Safety Committee. <br /> <br />A request from Mr. Krannak for rezoning a part of Shorewood Hills Dlat <br />to multiple dwelling and a part for a nursing home was referred to the <br />public welfare committee. ' <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Council granted permission for Mounds View Little League baseball team <br />to hold games at the field at Hamline And Co. Rd. ~ on Wednesday nights <br />except June 11, July 2, July 9 and August 6~ <br /> <br />A request by Mr. Sparks for the removal of a power post on the village <br />playground was referred to Mr. Crepeau. <br /> <br />Attorney1s Report: Vx. Courtney reported that he sent another letter to <br />Mr. Surina ordering completion of the unfinished house qn Tiller Lane. <br /> <br />A Prospectus for the Kenna pronerty bond issue was presented Council <br />members, and extra copies filea with the /Clerk. <br /> <br />Mr. Courtney requested thatt due to the bond issue notice, that the June <br />9 Council meeting begin at :00 P.M. instead of 3:00 P.M. , <br /> <br />A first draft of the liquor ordiance was read and explained by Attorney <br />Courtney. <br />Upon motion by ',anfrey, seconded by Crepeau, the first reading waS given <br />An Ordinance Licinsing and Regulating the Sale and Consumption of Intox- <br />icating Liquor and Providing a Penalty for Violation. Motion passed. <br /> <br />The ordinance waS referred to the Council for study and to the Finance <br />Committee for recommendation on feeS etc. <br />
