<br />MIWJTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />COUNCIL OF THE VIILAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br />Monday, July 14. 1958 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at S:15 p.m. by Mayor Ashbach. <br />Roll Call: Present; Ashb~ch, DeLange, Winfrey, Crepeau, Stromquist <br />Absent; none <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The minutes of the June 30, 1955 meeting of the Council were read and <br />approved as amended. <br /> <br />Mr. Tom H. Hill, Building Contractor, representing Mr. Lundberg, requested <br />council permission to build a 70' house on an SO' lot On Arden Place. <br />Mrs. Honan, a neighbor, objected. The matter was referred to the Board of <br />Appeals, Mr. Winfrey to contact the chairman of the Board. <br /> <br />1~. Kenneth SparkS presented tentative plans to Council and village resi- <br />dents for developing the playground property at Hamline and County Road E. <br />Y~s. Mattson felt her yard next to the playground may become a runway for <br />child.ren. Other residents were concerned about parking faoilities,at'the <br />playground. The matter was referred back to Mr. SparkS and Trustee DeLange. <br /> <br />Mr. Ja.mes Ashworth of Arsenal Gravel Company requested permission to lease <br />a piece of land off Lexington Avenue direotly north of the security fenoe <br />of the Arsenal for industrial use. The matter was referred to the Public <br />Welfare Department. <br /> <br />Mr, Dick Tisen, 3730 North Milton, representing the Arden Hills Sports_ <br />men's Club requested permiSSion to have a trap shooting range onthe south <br />end of Jack Grudnoske1s farm. The matter was referred to the Public Wel- <br />fare Committee. <br /> <br />Mrs. Bue inquired whether vacant lots must be kept cut free of weeds. <br />Wayne DeLange, Village Weed Inspector stated they must be, and informed <br />her that the weed inspector aots upon complaint, notifying owner that <br />weeds must be cut within five days, or the Village will cut them and <br />bill the owner for the charges. <br /> <br />Mr. Don Gode reported that Hamline Avenue north of Josephine, and some- <br />times Glenarden Road is being used as a drag strip,. The matter was re- <br />ferred to Public Safety Committee. <br /> <br />A request from Gretchen Bue for installation of "Watoh Out For Children" <br />Sign to be installed at the corner of Snelling and Forest Lane was referred <br />to the Public Safety Committee. <br /> <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE: Stromquist presented Council with monthly budget <br />report. <br /> <br />A meeting of the Finance is to be held to draw up a liquor license <br />application form. <br />
